I've been thinking of my grandmother, Agnes Miera Chavez, more than the usual. I'm guessing it's because we are nearing the anniversary of her death, and I miss her more and more with each day that passes. My grandma was indeed a virtuous woman and a dedicated volunteer in her community. She strived to put others before herself, and lived for her family and friends. I like to think of my grandmother as far from ordinary and I'm extrememly proud to know that others believe and recognize the outstanding woman she was. I thank you for giving this tribute in honor of her and I believe this was a special gift that my grandmother would be extremely proud of.
